A job as a Global Technical Field Engineer?

As a Global Technical Field Engineer, your main responsibility is to support our worldwide customers during installation and operation of their micro-CT systems. You will spend a significant amount of your time at customers’ locations, where you will assist in the on-site installation and the preventive and curative maintenance of the systems. You will also train our customers on how to correctly operate the systems and perform basic maintenance. Additionally, you will work closely together with our R&D team in Ghent and participate in the finalization and optimization of the microCT systems, which includes assembling and adjusting mechanical and electrical components such as cameras, sensors, motors, …

What experience do you need?

  • A technical degree or equivalent through experience (e.g. in a high tech / laboratory environment).
  • Strong ability to communicate both written and verbal in English
  • Previous work experience as an electrical/mechanical engineer or maintenance technician is a plus
  • Experience with scientific instruments and the associated software is a strong plus
  • Affinity with programming languages (C ++, LabVIEW) and experience with scripting languages (such as Python) are a plus

We are looking for a person passionate about technology, with

  • A keen interest in precision engineering, motorized setups, electronics, ...
  • Willingness to travel abroad regularly (at least 3 times a month for several days)
  • A desire to be immersed in the world of our customers and keen to come up with hands-on solutions for their problems
  • A high level of self-organization, a proactive nature, and a results-oriented mindset (in other words, someone who thrives in a dynamic scale-up environment)
  • Someone who can communicate effectively and in a transparent way, both with colleagues and customers (this includes providing clear documentation)
  • Someone who can handle a drill and soldering iron (among other tools)
